Mara Epstein – ZALO USA

Premium pleasure products brand ZALO USA has enlisted the expertise of longtime adult retail sales professional Mara Epstein to lead the company’s expansion in role of senior executive director of sales and marketing.

Epstein officially joined the company last month and hit the ground running by introducing the ZALO brand to international buyers at all three of the industry’s top shows — ANME, XBIZ Retreat and the AVN Novelty Expo.

“Mara brings a wealth of experience, expertise and deep connections established through her years of dedication to the industry,” said Peter Ovsonka, president and CEO of ZALO USA. “We’re grateful to have Mara join our team and look forward to working together to bring the ZALO brand to retailers around the world.”

While being on hiatus from the industry after decades of playing various instrumental roles for leading pleasure products and adult video companies, Epstein was called back by the undeniable innovation of ZALO products.

“I’m glad to be back with a company that’s filling a void in the luxury category,” Epstein said. “When I saw first saw ZALO I was amazed by the quality and each item’s unique functions. I’m really excited to be able to bring the freshness of this brand to retailers. The attention to detail that each ZALO product is designed with is impeccable and has long been overdue on the market.”

As a testament to her longevity in the industry, Epstein was the winner of the first-ever Businesswoman of the Year XBIZ Exec Award in 2014. Last year, she was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame.

Epstein got her start in the adult industry after she answered a Variety ad looking for telemarketers. She conquered adult video sales, working alongside several industry pioneers, prior to crossing over into the pleasure products industry, where she was instrumental in introducing the LELO brand to the adult market, as well as helped launched the Maia Toys brand in the U.S. Epstein also served for more than 14 years as a board member on the Free Speech Coalition.
