Ron Jeremy Named Host of 2017 XBIZ Awards

LOS ANGELES — Kingpin meets kingmaker at the 2017 XBIZ Awards, when the most legendary porn star in history, Ron Jeremy, will host the adult industry’s biggest night.

Godfather among XXX icons, Jeremy has earned the ultimate “household name” status in the biz, with performances in more than 2,300 adult films and directing credits for nearly 300 titles. That prolific resume earned him a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for “Most Appearances in Adult Films.” His crossover stardom is also brighter than ever, casting a mythic shadow across mainstream headlines thanks to his ribald wit and erudite brainpower.
“Look folks, they threw an old dog a bone!” Jeremy said. “I really appreciate that XBIZ is giving me this opportunity. I promise you all that I’ll make the breast of it … excuse me, the best of it.”

Born Ronald Jeremy Hyatt in Queens to a physicist father and book editor mother, Jeremy earned his master’s degree in special education from Queens College to teach youngsters in the Big Apple before opting to pursue an acting career on Broadway.

He was soon lured away by a lucrative Playgirl modeling opportunity, which eventually opened the doors to adult film notoriety, where his 10-inch member and indefatigable sexual prowess inspired legions of fans and critics alike.

“You know, when I started making movies, most of the girls in today’s porn business were not even sperm yet!” he jested.

Jeremy has made appearances in Hollywood cult classics including “The Boondock Saints,” “Crank: High Voltage,” “Ghostbusters,” “The Chase” and “Zombiegeddon.” He graced TV screens in popular shows like “Robot Chicken,” “Family Guy,” “Tosh.0,” “Chapelle’s Show,” “Lewis Black’s Root of All Evil,” “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations” and Penn and Teller’s “Bullshit!”

His list of music video cameos for major artists is just as long, joining Guns N’ Roses, Sublime, Moby, Insane Clown Posse, LMFAO, Sam Kinison, Flight of the Conchords and Kid Rock in the annals of platinum discography, to name a few.

He was the subject of a 2001 documentary film, “Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy,” directed by Scott J. Gill, and was immortalized in video games with “Celebrity Deathmatch,” “Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude” and “Postal III.” In 2007, he published his memoir “Ron Jeremy: The Hardest (Working) Man in Showbiz,” courtesy of Harper Collins.

The man even has his own line of rum, “Ron de Jeremy,” sporting that unmistakable mustachioed visage on the label, and he posed in an advertisement for PETA raising awareness about domesticated animals’ overpopulation, cuffed partially nude on a bed with the tagline “Too much sex can be a bad thing.”
His notoriety resulted in an invitation to address the illustrious Oxford Union Society, a debating society largely comprised of intellectual giants from the prestigious University of Oxford, whose members wished to hear of his dastardly exploits.

Suffice to say, when the 2017 XBIZ Awards go down, you can bet all eyes will be glued to the stage. After all, at the 85th Academy Awards in 2013, before a global audience of billions, Seth MacFarlane’s opening monologue intoned, “from Whoopi all the way down to Ron Jeremy.”

Dos Equis and The Ringling Bros. may just have to surrender their titles next January when “The Most Interesting Man in the World” suits up with “The Greatest Adult Industry Awards Show on Earth” for an unforgettable gathering of industry luminaries.

A star-studded red carpet affair that hosts a who’s who from the business of sex, the XBIZ Awards is the adult industry’s biggest night and most prestigious symbol of success.
