Australian TGA Cracking Down on Enhancement Pills
Melbourne, VIC – The Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has listed four male enhancement pills under a Safety Alert effectively banning these items from sale.
On the 27th October 2020 the alert was issued for the following pills – Beast, Kangaroo, Skorpion and HRD.
The Alert states the capsules pose a serious health risk and should not be taken. The products were found to contain the undeclared substances sildenafil and tadalafil which are prescription-only (S4) medicines in Australia.
The supply of capsules containing undisclosed sildenafil and tadalafil is illegal.
Industry sources have also mentioned suspicious ‘fishing’ behavior via email communication from a fake source seeking written evidence from various suppliers and retailers as to the source of such items, their ability to supply commercial quantities and a confirmation of ingredients specifically regarding pharmaceuticals. The timing of the written requests, shortly prior to the Safety Alert, was recognized as behavior synonymous with government legal representatives seeking to ‘discover’ and penalize offending adult business.
The Alert comes hot on the heels of a $40 million drug bust in Melbourne which gained wide media attention with illicit drugs found stashed in vibrating butt plugs from UK sex toy manufacturer Rocks Off.
