Queensland, AU – New data from adult toy retailer Adulttoymegastore pulls back the curtains on Australia’s sexploits, revealing Queensland as the winning state that bought the most sex toys per capita in 2023.

Nicknamed Australia’s ‘Sunshine State,’ Queensland is famous for its sparkling coastline, sandy beaches and ancient rainforests.

However, it seems that the outdoors is not the only place that the state of 5.4 million have been getting busy, with plenty happening behind closed doors as well.

Rounding off the podium, Tasmania snagged second place, with Western Australia closely behind in third. However, ordering over 40 per cent more than Tasmanians per capita, Queenslanders undeniably take the crown in this contest.

Gone are the days where sex toy-owners were few and far between, with recent statistics providing insight into not only the locations of those purchasing from Adulttoymegastore in Australia, but also the demographics of those that are interested.

Young men have been revealed as Adulttoymegastore’s biggest buyers in Australia, with 30 per cent of Australian buyers aged 25-34, and men overall making up 56 per cent of all Australian sales.

“It’s a common misconception that sex toys are predominantly bought by women, with our recent discovery that your average Tom, Dick and Harry are actually our biggest Australian buyers,” says Relph.

“To see men overcoming stigmas and shyness around sex toys is incredibly encouraging for our quest to create an increasingly sex-positive society that celebrates and normalises conversations about pleasure – even if they are buying on behalf of a partner!”
