By on October 21, 2015

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Portland-based BDSM products manufacturer Spartacus Leathers sponsors this year’s “Intro to Kink” workshop at San Francisco State University on Wednesday, October 21. Spartacus Leathers will be providing all attendees with its “Little Black Book of Kinky Tips,” a take-away handbook of kink basics, including definitions of toys and reminders of safe play.

“We’re thrilled to offer our support to EROS by providing our ‘Little Black Book’ to everyone who attends this workshop,” says Spartacus Leathers Vice President Josh Miller. “Education is key in every aspect of sexuality, and particularly so in kink / fetish play. We’re proud to have been in this industry, educating and providing products to any who are interested in kink, for 28 years; we’re happy to see educational institutions are expanding their offerings to students with these sort of workshops.”

As part of SFSU’s EROS (Education and Referral Organization for Sexuality) annual program offerings, “Intro to Kink: Bondage, Fetish, & Sadomasochism” will cover:

• The what (and why) behind BDSM
• Consent, negotiation, and communication
• Private vs public BDSM play
• Basics of Dominance & submission
• Bondage techniques: much more than rope (opportunity for hands-on practice)
• Impact play: spanking, flogging, caning, whipping
• The 10 most popular kinks and fetishes

The workshop is led by BDSM dominant, performer, bestselling co-author, porn actor, and sex educator Danarama, best known as one of the “Two Knotty Boys” rope bondage instruction duo, and since 2014 has been the full-time Director of http://KinkUniversity.com, the educational wing of http://Kink.com. A frequent instructor for numerous BDSM educational websites, as well as the rope bondage rigger for numerous fetish productions and photographers, Dan has also co-directed and performed as a Dominant for numerous websites including Kink.

“We are so happy to have sponsorship from Spartacus Leathers for our ‘Intro to Kink’ workshop,” says Reyna Aguilar, Director of EROS. “As a non-profit organization at a state university, it is not easy to come by support for our educational kink and fetish events; yet we still continue to do them, because we recognize the importance of these classes in our community. Thanks to Spartacus Leathers, we are able to offer additional resources for our students!”

“Intro to Kink” will take place at the Cesar Chavez Student Center, Rosa Parks A-C, from 1-3 pm. Attendance is limited to SFSU students; for more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/events/890470031030153/. Sponsor gift packs and raffle prizes will be provided at the conclusion of the workshop.

Founded in 1987 by “Big Al” Bedrosian, Spartacus Leathers began in the basement of the original Portland retail store. By providing high-quality, handcrafted kink gear, and under Big Al’s supervision, which included decades of experience in a variety of adult retail outlets, the company grew quickly to become a decades-long mainstay of the BDSM and adult communities.

A visionary pioneer of the BDSM products industry, Big Al passed in 2013; Spartacus Leathers honors his legacy by continuing to produce a full line of carefully crafted leather, metal, rubber, and glass items. From clamps, whips, floggers, and chastity devices, to leather goods varying from collars, leashes, blindfolds, body harnesses, and more, Spartacus Leathers’ products are highly valued, both in Portland as well as around the world. The company’s glass dildo and anal plug line, Blown, continues to receive rave reviews, and its Kink Kit is an often-sought product as gifts and introductory purchase for beginner fetishists.
