Australian Adult Industry Consultant Runs As Political Candidate

By on September 19, 2018

Melbourne, VIC – A policy advisor to the Eros Association, Australia’s adult industry association, will be running as a political candidate in the Victorian election for the seat of Albert Park.

Jarryd Bartle, who has assisted Eros Association campaigns against industry discrimination and classification reform, formally launched his campaign on Monday focusing on a safe injecting room in St Kilda, calling for the decriminalisation of sex work and fighting government corruption.

“Politicians apparently care more about what you smoke, what you watch and what you do with your body than the things that matter to you” noted Mr Bartle in his campaign video.

Reason Victoria, formally named the Australian Sex Party, was founded by former Eros Association CEO Fiona Patten, who was elected to office in 2014 and has since been a key figure in progressive legal changes regarding safe zones surrounding abortion clinics and drug law reform.
