Independent Industry Study Claims LELO Set to Dominate by 2020

Stockholm/ San Jose/ Melbourne, – A major independent study by research and analysis giant Technavio placed LELO as one of a handful of vendors set to lead the adult industry between 2016 and 2020 – and LELO was the only luxury brand in the group.

The fact the report was conducted at all is a signifier of changing times: the progress and advances made by the adult industry are gathering increasingly mainstream coverage. With more coverage comes more sales, ultimately creating a virtuous cycle.

The proof is in the numbers. The report predicts a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 15% for the period up to 2020 – a “staggering” rate of growth, according to the study’s publishers.

So what’s behind the growth? Aside from the obvious increases in quality and reliability that’s most commonly cited, the research uncovered interesting new information: packaging is a major factor in the improving public perception of the pleasure industry.

LELO has long been leading the march towards better packaging, regularly winning awards for elegance in design. In fact, LELO recently announced it was in the process of rolling out even more luxurious new packaging across its entire range.

Crowdfunding was another new point of entry for many curious customers, a process pioneered earlier in the year by LELO with the innovative launch of the HEX™ condom. Smashing its initial target by 3000%, HEX™ condoms set a new benchmark for innovative product launches, as inferred from the report.

LELO CMO Steve Thomson said: “Studies like this go to show that the industry as a whole is being taken more and more seriously. As industry pathfinders, LELO are at the forefront of that and according to the report, we’re likely to cement that position for years to come!”
